"A lifetime membership in an organization with 3.2 million advocates for public education and the welfare of our education family is a great buy." -- Joe Ramos, Spokane ESP member

Whether you're already retired or just thinking about retirement down the road, don't miss out on an opportunity to stay connected with your Association -- and save $100.

WEA-Retired is the primary voice for public education retirees in the state of Washington. Retired members work in partnership with WEA members to maintain public confidence in public education, and advocate political and legislative efforts to protect your retirement resources. Membership also allows you to stay connected with fellow WEA members and programs.

"This is the organization that fights for retired issues and remembers the needs of the classroom," says Verleeta Wooten, WEA board director and past president of Seattle EA. "I joined as a pre-retired member to save money and lend support to my future."

Ginny Drummond, a Tacoma education support professional for 27 years, wants to make sure she has a forum to continue her support of public education when she retires. She helped her mom prepare for PTA conventions at the age of six, and volunteered in her kids' schools when they were growing up.

Plain and simple, continuing membership in your state and national association keeps you involved in our profession -- as active as you decide to be.

And, as a bonus, if you join before Sept. 1, you'll get to lock in the one-time NEA-Retired membership rate of $100 for NEA-Retired. The lifetime membership opportunity may be discontinued in the future.
