Maryjo WhitePassages of time

I'm a 34-year-old second-grade teacher. In my classroom, I have several books that belonged to me as a young child. A student found one of these books and took notice of the doodling and random notes I had written in the front cover of the book. After admiring all the different ways I had scripted my name, she inquired, "Ms. White, did you write in your book because there wasn't paper back then?!"
